The Dining to Deliver Gala Hosted by Meals on Wheels Diablo Region

Meals on Wheels Diablo Region (MOW Diablo Region) invites guests to join them for a night of dining, dancing, and fun at the Dining to Deliver Gala on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Blackhawk Museum. Last year’s event was sold out, and this year’s Gala will be another great opportunity to help support vulnerable seniors in our community.

MOW Diablo Region has been delivering meals and lifesaving services to seniors since 1968. In the past year alone, they delivered over 600,000 meals. The need for its supportive services has grown; Fall Prevention has increased by 150%. More seniors are receiving Friendly Visits and Calls to prevent social isolation, and Care Management helps seniors struggling with challenges like depression, evictions, and elder abuse. With senior needs increasing, this event is crucial to continue providing these essential services.

Paul Heggen, award-winning Chief Meteorologist at KPIX-TV, will serve as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies! Heggen won the "Weather Anchor" Emmy for his work at KPIX during the 2020 season — that brought his total number of Emmy Awards to seven! In 2019, he was named "Weathercaster of the Year" by the Radio, Television, and Digital News Association of the Carolinas. He has also won multiple "Best Weathercast" and "Best Weather Anchor" awards from the Associated Press and Society of Professional Journalists. He brought high energy and smiles to the gala last year, and the organization looks forward to joining him again for another night of fun!

Franco the “Warriors Hype Man” Finn, will serve as the gala auctioneer! Finn is in his 20th Season as the In-Arena MC and TV Personality for the NBA Champion Golden State Warriors. Finn performs live in front of 20,000+ fans each night and is also a segment host on KRON 4 TV. Franco Finn is a sought-after professional auctioneer having raised millions of dollars for high-profile local and national nonprofits.

The gala will host live music by the Timebandits, Solano County's Premier Dance Band. They are a family of talented, well-versed musicians who filled the dance floor for last year’s event!
